Forgotten Flix

We're talking about the movies YOU grew up with!

Ep. 024 – TFFP: What About Bob? (1991)

What About Bob? (1991) posterIn this episode of The Forgotten Flix Podcast, it’s What About Bob? from 1991, starring Bill Murray, Richard Dreyfuss, and Julie Hagerty.

When Dr. Leo Marvin takes on the hyper-neurotic Bob Wiley as a patient, he gets WAY more than a new fan of his self-serving, self-help book. But rather, Bob becomes an uninvited (and supremely unwanted) house guest, following Dr. Marvin and his family to their vacation home on  Lake Winnipesaukee. Through a series of wild misadventures, Bob begins to get better, while Dr. Marvin, well, let’s just say he begins to see the benefit of extreme psychiatric therapies– like death therapy, for instance.

And with this week’s 6 Flix Picks we chose movies where crazy = funny. Politically correct? Hell no! But then again, if you were expecting PC, you probably don’t like listening to our show in the first place, now do ya?

Check the show out next week, when we’ll be joining forces with Alex, Centauri and Co. to defend the frontier from Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada in 1984’s The Last Starfighter!

“There are two types of people, those who love Neil Diamond and those who don’t” – that was the final clue on the game show I was a contestant on in 1996. The category? Films of Bill Murray.

Great show guys. Gotta give you major props for being able to seamlessly go from Ghostbusters 2 to South Park and actually make that work! Also I’m not sure…this is just a hunch mind you but I think Joel might have a teeny bit of pent up anger about the prequels that shall not be named. 😉

I am SO looking forward to your Last Starfighter discussion…can’t wait for that one.

Thanks Kevin! I appreciate that and the excellent voice mail you sent in. As for your “hunch,” there’s nothing teeny about my prequel hatin’! 🙂
