Forgotten Flix

We're talking about the movies YOU grew up with!

Ep. 027 – TFFP: Cliffhanger (1993)

Cliffhanger (1993)In this episode of The Forgotten Flix Podcast, we’re going over the edge in 1993’s Cliffhanger, directed by Renny Harlin (Prison, Die Hard 2, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Cutthroat Island) and starring Sylvester Stallone, Janine Turner, Michael Rooker, and John Lithgow.

This was a personal fave of Joel’s when he was a teenager; however, he hasn’t seen it in 15 years.

So, will this tale of mountain rescuers, hardened criminals, and $30 million in stolen cash hold up, or is it another unfortunate case of CND (Cinematic Nostalgia Disorder)? Download the show and find out!

This week’s 6 Flix Picks are Stallone movies with worse dialogue than Cliffhanger.

They are:

Demolition Man

Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!

Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over

Judge Dredd

Join us next week when some guy shows up and starts dating our mom and, like, thinks he’s our dad or something, but he’s not our dad! No, he’s The Stepfather (1987)!

Another really fun show…thanks guys.  Can we send in our own requests of 80s songs that we’d like to hear Joel butcher…err…I mean sing?  My first request would be “Don’t You Want Me'” by Human League.  🙂

Thanks Kevin! And I’m happy to take requests. I prefer power ballads, but I can pull off the Human League. 🙂

I am SO glad I waited ’til it was dark before taking a walk and listen to this. I more or less laughed through the whole podcast… Thank you very much!

Glad you liked it Peter! I’ll assume the laughter was with us… 🙂

Right, I’ve just downloaded this and I’ll listen to it at some point in the next couple of days but I can tell you now: those 6-Flix Picks should have included Daylight.
Utterly terrible Stallone action vehicle of the 90s!
